The School of Vehicles and Intelligent Transportation in Fuyao University of Science and Technology was formally established on August 1, 2024. The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Cho Tak Wong, Chairman of Fuyao Group Company,and Professor Yi Qiu, Dean of the School.

Academic Structure and Programs

The school comprises two departments:

· Department of Vehicle Engineering

· Department of Intelligent Transportation

It currently offers an undergraduate program in Vehicle Engineering (080207) and is preparing to launch a new B.Eng. program in Transportation (081801). Guided by a research-led, student-centered, and excellence-oriented educational philosophy, the school is developing an innovative education system with a portfolio of flagship courses in vehicle engineering and transportation.

A distinctive dual-advisor system provides holistic guidance covering student life, academic study, and research development. Through close collaboration with industry partners, the school will jointly establish or have jointly established practical innovation centers to nurture elite professionals and exemplary engineers with solid knowledge foundations, strong practical skills, and innovative problem-solving capabilities.

· Human Factors and Vibroacoustic in Vehicle/Transportation Systems

· Advanced Technologies for Marine Transportation Equipment

Research Platforms and Laboratories

The school has established and is expanding several research platforms:

· Laboratory of Human Factors Engineering and Intelligent Vibration & Noise Reduction-admitted to the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory cultivation program

· Joint Laboratory of Vehicle Wireless Communications and Intelligent Driving (in collaboration with Fuyao Glass Group Company)

· Laboratory for Marine Transportation Equipment

Faculty

The school has assembled a high-caliber team of 41 full-time and 21 part-time faculty members, recruited from leading universities and multinational enterprises in China and abroad. The faculty includes members of national academies, National Distinguished Experts, Changjiang Distinguished Professors, and recipients of national youth talent programs. The majority of them will bring extensive experience in teaching, research, and industry, along with a strong international perspective.
