In 2021, Chairman Cho Tak Wong officially announced a donation of RMB 10 billion to found Fuyao University of Science and Technology (FYUST), defining it as a non-profit higher education institution.
On November 20, 2021, Fuzhou Municipal People's Government and Heren Charitable Foundation signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement for the construction of FYUST.
The groundbreaking ceremony of FYUST was held on Liuzhou Island in the Fuzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone.
In Nov. 2022, the administrative building was topped out.
On February 21, 2025, the Ministry of Education of China formally approved the establishment of Fujian Fuyao University of Science and Technology
On September 12, FYUST held opening ceremony, welcoming our first cohort of 50 undergraduate students.
