The Key Laboratory of Automotive Glass of Fujian is co‑affiliated with Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co., Ltd. (Fuyao Group) and Fuyao University of Science and Technology (FYUST). As a world‑leading supplier in the automotive glass industry, Fuyao Group is the first Chinese enterprise to lead the industrial landscape of key automotive components. The laboratory focuses on research and development of high‑value‑added automotive glass products and their core technologies. Officially approved by the Science and Technology Department of Fujian Province on December 31, 2014, the laboratory passed its acceptance evaluation in 2019. In 2025, Fuyao University of Science and Technology was added as its second supporting institution. To date, all scientific research programs have been carried out in an orderly manner and have yielded remarkable achievements. The laboratory is located at the Fuyao Glass Engineering Research Institute, covering an area of approximately 15,000 square meters, with a total investment of more than 130 million yuan in infrastructure. To support engineering and industrial R&D of automotive glass, Fuyao Group has deployed a full set of hardware and software facilities, including: a pilot-scale coating technology test line, a thin-film characterization and analysis center, a coating environmental test chamber, an indoor antenna testing laboratory, an outdoor open-area antenna testing site, and a CNAS-accredited testing and inspection center.
