It integrates the latest multi-disciplinary technologies and methods to explore the mechanisms of brain functions and brain diseases, seek means for precise diagnosis, treatment, and effective intervention of brain diseases and degenerative processes, and safeguard life and health. Additionally, it aims to cultivate compound and interdisciplinary leading talents in the field of life and health for the future.
With "brain health" as the main thread, the School has established a multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary research system of X-Brain-Y, which connects the brain with other organs/systems of the body. From multiple dimensions such as molecule-cell-organ-individual, genes and environment, animal models and clinical samples, and in collaboration with institutions both inside and outside the university as well as at home and abroad, it integrates frontier technologies such as big data science, artificial intelligence (AI), materials science, and advanced intelligent manufacturing. The goal is to clarify the mechanisms of brain diseases, discover new targets for brain disease treatment, new markers for early diagnosis, new effective therapeutic drugs, and new non-invasive intervention devices. It also explores the principles of brain intelligence (BI) to improve the efficiency and level of artificial intelligence.
