The School of Vehicles and Intelligent Transportation in Fuyao University of Science and Technology was formally established on August 1, 2024, with the unveiling ceremony presided over by Mr Cho Tak Wong, Chairman of Fuyao Group and Professor Yi Qiu, Dean of the School.

The school is organized into two departments: the Department of Vehicles Engineering and the Department of Intelligent Transportation, offering undergraduate programs in Vehicle Engineering (080207) and Transportation (081801). Adopting the philosophy of talent cultivation“research-oriented, personalized, and elite education”, the school aims to create an innovative educational framework to develop a series of top-tier courses in vehicle engineering and transportation. A "dual-advisor" system provides students with guidance in personal life, academics, and research, while partnerships with industry support the establishment of hands-on innovative skills. This enables students to become elite professionals and exceptional engineers in the fields of vehicle engineering and transportation, with strong theoretical foundations, practical skills, and capacities for innovation.

The research areas currently available in the school include connected vehicles and autonomous driving, artificial intelligence and its applications, human factors in vehicles engineering, intelligent reduction of vibration and noise, lightweight design and crashworthiness of new energy vehicles, advanced technology in marine transportation equipment. The school has been establishing three research laboratories, namely, Key Laboratory of Human Factors and Intelligent Reduction of Vibration and Noise（Ministry of Education）, Joint Laboratory of Vehicle Wireless Communication with Fuyao Group, and Laboratory for Marine Transportation Equipment.

The School of Vehicles and Intelligent Transportation boasts its distinguished faculty with scholars, experts and young talents from world renowned universities and enterprises internally and internationally. The faculty up to the date consists of 41 full-time and 21 part-time academic staff, including Fellows of Engineering Academy from developed countries, National Distinguished Experts, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professors, and NSFC Distinguished Young Scholars. Majority of faculty members earned extensive experience in teaching, research and industry, along with a global perspective.
