Chairman Lam Tai-fai and President Teng Jin-guang of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Visit Fuyao University of Science and Technology

On December 15, 2025, a delegation from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), led by Dr. Lam Tai-fai, Chairman of PolyU Council, and Prof. Teng Jin-guang, President of PolyU, visited Fuyao University of Science and Technology (FYUST). Cho Tak Wong, Chairman of the University Council, President Wang Shuguo, Executive Vice President Xu Fei, and Vice President Chen Jianqun attended the meeting. The two sides held in-depth discussions on building a new type of research university, exploring innovative talent cultivation approaches, and deepening scientific research collaboration.

Chairman Cho Tak Wong warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the university’s founding vision, educational philosophy, and long-term development goals. He noted that FYUST is committed to building a high-caliber, compact and elite, research-driven, and globally oriented university dedicated to developing top-tier talent with both global vision and a strong sense of social responsibility. He also expressed hopes for closer cooperation between the two universities in scientific research, faculty and student exchanges, and joint programs.

President Wang Shuguo shared the university’s recent progress and initiatives in discipline development, faculty recruitment, and university-industry integration. He noted that FYUST actively promotes the integration of academic research and industrial innovation, and that the two universities share strong potential for collaboration in engineering, technology, and innovation research.

Dr. Lam Tai-fai spoke highly of FYUST’s campus development, educational philosophy, and rapid progress. He noted that PolyU has long attached great importance to collaboration with mainland universities and expressed hope that the visit would serve as an opportunity to advance practical cooperation between the two institutions in talent cultivation, scientific research, and academic exchange.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen communication and coordination, accelerate the implementation of collaborative initiatives, and work together toward mutually beneficial development.
