The Engineering Training and Innovation Center (ETIC) aims to cultivate students' engineering practical abilities, comprehensive engineering qualities, innovative thinking, entrepreneurial potential, and creative abilities. It is committed to building a platform for engineering practical teaching and innovation and entrepreneurship education that is accessible to the entire university, fully meeting the requirements of the top-notch innovative talent cultivation system for a "new international research-oriented high-level university", that "the undergraduate teaching system integrates general and specialized courses, strengthens scientific research training and practical training, and strives to implement general education in every course and throughout practical and scientific research training " .

The center integrates four major functions: engineering training, science and technology innovation competitions, innovative research, and makerspace. Firstly, as a teaching platform, it undertakes fundamental engineering skills training and comprehensive practical teaching tasks for all majors across the university. Secondly, as a science and technology innovation competition base, it supports technological innovation activities such as artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet Plus, innovation competitions, and intelligent manufacturing competitions, etc., facilitating the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents. Furthermore, as a platform for innovative research, it supports students in conducting cutting-edge research under the guidance of faculty mentors—including digital and intelligent design, virtual experiments, robotics, precision machining, and precision measurement. Finally, as a makerspace, it provides interdisciplinary practice workshops for students to realize their creativity and supports students in commercializing their technological achievements.
